This event is an orientation for new families and students who are interested in attending graduate school for the clinical health professions after UT graduation: Medical, Physician Assistant, Dental, Optometry, Pharmacy, Podiatry, Veterinary Medicine, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Chiropractic Medicine. Please note that this session will not review the nursing field, which requires a bachelor's degree for career entry. Registration is required. Students who are majoring in or are interested in majoring in the Departments of Biology, Chemistry & Biochemistry, Environmental Studies, Health Sciences and Human Performance, Nursing, Physics & Astronomy, and Sport Management will meet for the College of Natural and Health Sciences new student convocation, the first academic gathering of the year. This short event will provide students with a snapshot of the college through several student and faculty talks. Students will have the opportunity to meet some of the faculty in their respective departments and student leaders in the CNHS student organizations.

Students majoring or thinking about majors in the College of Arts and Letters including Art + Design, Art Therapy, Graphic Design, Museum Studies, Communication, Communication and Media Studies, Communication and Speech Studies, Theater, Advertising, Public Relations, Journalism, Spanish, Music, Music Education, Film, Animation, New Media, Philosophy, Design, English, Writing, Musical Theater or Dance should plan to attend this fun and informative convocation. Faculty, students, and the dean of the college will formally welcome you and your family and be available to answer questions, introduce you to resources and opportunities, and help start the new year. Convocation will be followed by break-out sessions for specific majors in the Ferman Center for the Arts where you will meet faculty in your program.

Students who are majoring or interested in the degree programs in Actuarial Science, Applied Sociology, Computer Science, Criminology and Criminal Justice, Data Science, Elementary Education, History, International Studies, Mathematics, Mathematics with Computer Science, Political Science, Pre-Law, Psychology, and/or Secondary Education (Math, Biology, or Social Sciences) should attend our new student convocation. In addition, students who have yet to declare a major are more than welcome to attend and learn about our diverse, exciting college. This will be your first academic ceremony at UTampa, and you'll hear from a faculty member, student, and recent alumnus about maximizing your time at CSSME and UTampa! The convocation ceremony will be immediately followed by short break-out sessions for each department where new students will have the opportunity to meet their department faculty members for conversations and refreshments.
