Leadership Awards Night is an annual university-wide event planned and implemented by the Office of Student Leadership and Engagement staff members, Fraternity and Sorority Life staff members, and Student Coordinators. The Advisor is the Director of Community Engagement, with the Project Manager as the Staff Assistant of The Office of Student Leadership and Engagement.

Each April, the University of Tampa community gathers for a night of celebration, honoring the achievements of students, faculty, staff and student organizations during the academic year.

The office of Student Care and Advocacy houses two programs for students, our Spartan Support Program and Victim Advocacy.

The Spartan Support Program (formerly Student of Concern) at The University of Tampa identifies and addresses students who may be struggling in ways that interfere with learning, development, success and/or community welfare. Student support is accomplished through campus and community collaboration which may include assessment, triage, recommendation and utilization of resources, and individual planning and monitoring.

UT is proud to offer victim advocacy services to any student who has been the victim of a violent crime. The program is staffed with trained advocates who are designated by the Office of the Attorney General to provide victim services and work on-campus in student life. An advocate may be contacted during the fall and spring semesters through the victim advocate hotline (813) 257-3900 or by contacting Campus Safety. During summer terms or between academic terms, advocates may be contacted solely through Campus Safety. You may always contact an advocate by emailing victimadvocacy@ut.edu.

The Violence Prevention & Education Committee (VPEC) at the University of Tampa is a multidisciplinary team of campus and community members dedicated to upholding a trauma informed system and ending interpersonal violence. Our mission is to cultivate a safe, respectful, and compassionate community through data analysis, proactive collaboration, and training. Together we strive to create a campus culture where every individual can thrive, without fear of interpersonal violence.

What would our institution look like if we achieved this mission?

• All community members will know what healthy sexuality and healthy relationships look like.
• Interpersonal violence will not be an obstacle to any community member achieving excellence in their education or work.
• All community members will know what their options are in the event that they experience sexual or interpersonal violence.
• All community members will know what their responsibilities are in the event they witness sexual or interpersonal violence.
• No matter where or who they disclose sexual or interpersonal violence to, survivors are met with understanding, support, and trauma-informed resources.
• The general culture of UT becomes such that all community members know that sexual and interpersonal violence is not tolerated or accepted here.
